Childhood Redux

This seems like the best way to get another photo my mother scanned up onto these internets: write a post about a couple of childhood thingies that I learnt today.

First the photo:

For some reason she decided to give myself and my little brother newsreader haircuts and matching outfits.

I have no memory of being in this particular cult which leads me to the conclusion I was deprogrammed at some time between then and now.

Anyway, on with the news:

This week is the Game Boy’s 20th birthday. Where the fuck did that time go?! These handy devices got myself and my little brother (pictured) through many a family flight to Fiji.

As I recall, ours were originally purchased by my parents on one of their shopping trips to Hongkers. (It took mum a decade to work out she could heartlessly abandon us and go shopping on another continent. She went a number of times.)

Second bit of news:

Turtles Origins is set to be a live action film. Hooray! Just like fifteen years ago.

It’s weird that these two little factoids came down the wires on the same day. Maybe it means something? Or maybe I should get the hell back to work. Break’s over, jackass!

And there is nothing wrong with newsreader haircuts….
